FREEDOM IN THE KITCHEN

Imagine this...

It’s the weekend, you’re enjoying your day with your family...

then all of a sudden, it’s time to make lunch or dinner.

What to do, want to do?

You really don’t want to cook, but you also don’t want to spend extra money to go out (not to mention the extra calories).

I’m going to share some ideas on HOW to have more freedom in the kitchen.

Tips to spend LESS time in the kitchen.

1. When cooking protein, double it up.

Now you’ll have extras to use for the leftover in the next 3 to 4 days. .

Side note — just because you have leftovers does not mean you have to use it the next day, it also doesn’t mean you have to use it in the exact same manner you use it the first time you cooked it. .

Example-eat chicken breast for dinner, but make more of course. Then the next meal that you use chicken, shred it up. Use the shredded chicken for tortilla wraps, soup, casserole, and your quinoa/being bowl.

2. If you need only half a cucumber, or other produce

•cut the entire thing

•then store what you don’t need in a glass container or baggie with a paper towel to keep the produce fresh and crisp.

3. When cooking things like dried beans, rice, lentils, quinoa and the like-double the batch.

•Then once again, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator to reuse at another time. .

That way when is time to prepare a meal, you're not starting from scratch. You have leftovers and chopped up goodies to combine into something like a...

•Stir-fry

•quinoa/bean bowl

• Pasta with olive oil and chicken, tossed with broccoli and cilantro with Parmesan

Use your imagination, and come up with concoctions.

You’ll be shocked at how many things you can come up that taste fabulous, and in my opinion, sometimes much better than a restaurant.
