How To Eat Healthy While Traveling
Heading to the airport to catch a flight? Or how about A long car ride? You're bound to be there during meal time or when you’re likely to have a snack. No need to go and feel like you’re being pulled into Cinna-buns. With PLANNING and PREPARATIONS you can be the one in control, not Dunkin’ Donuts. So how do you make wise choices?
===> Before I travel I plan ahead • how many days will be gone • how many meals will I be eating • how many will I be preparing Then I pack accordingly.
So... What are some good traveling snacks/meals?
1.) Raw nuts with some dried berries in a plastic bag. I simply measure out each serving and put into a baggie depending on how many days I will be gone. 2.) Oatmeal with individually measured protein powder that I put into each one. 3.) I found some tasty soups that all you need is to add hot water, & you’ll have yourself a meal
4.) high-quality protein bar. 5.) packed hard-boiled eggs. 6.) raw veggies such as - celery, baby carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, or snap peas. 7.) Make a dish that packs well while traveling. I made an egg fritta, cut into eight slices. I divided each slice into a baggie and had 2 slices, four days in a row for lunch with raw vegetables.
These can be stored in a cooler and pass through security.
Another amazing thing... Frozen Meals! These WILL pass through The airport security. However, one thing to know, they require everything to be frozen, and the ice pack to be that which is filled with water. These can be easily ordered on Amazon or purchased at a local stores.
===> Warning:
Liquids are not permitted through security, like yogurt or cottage cheese. I learned the hard way and had some of my food, taken at the security. Although if you are traveling by car you won’t need to worry about that. One last thing... Remember your disposable silverware.
===> Now, when it comes to eating out at restaurants, I have rule for myself. I generally sick to my plan.
However, if vacationing, I will allow myself a choice of either an
- alcoholic beverage
- a refined carbohydrate
- dessert
I sure hope this is been helpful. Having a plan and following through with it is the number one thing will keep you on track. I personally like having rules it keeps me living in boundaries without going out of control.
Just because you’re on vacation or traveling does not mean that you should eat like junk.
