One Of My Secret Weapons For Weight Loss

If you want to lose weight, starving yourself is not the answer! There is a much healthier solution. One of my secret weapons I’ve been using on and off for a few years is My Fitness Pal. Yup, even this nutritionist uses a program keep me on track. It’s important for all of us to pay attention to what we eat, and how much.

In seasons of change — whether from activity level, hormones, maybe you’d like to tighten up, or you've gotten a little lax during a certain season of life - it’s not uncommon to need to change things up a bit. If your tired of trying to lose 25 pounds you gained from pregnancy (even if it’s been 20 years), or it's the 10 pounds that’s crept up on you, you may want to give it a try. I don’t get any kind of a kickback by recommending this program to people. I simply like it, and want to share it with you because I know it’s helped me and countless clients of mine. My fitness pal is a free app that has many great options without needing to purchase any extra bells or whistles.

All you do is search within the app of My Fitness Pal and it will show you all the locations of restaurants in the system. This makes it much easier to go out to eat, there's no need to guess work on how many grams of protein, carbohydrates, or fat is in a particular food item

Once you begin My Fitness Pal, there's a bit of a learning curve, be sure to block out about 20 to 60 minutes (depending on how you learn) to become familiar with it.

Something I like about it, there's a camera that scans the bar code on packages of food. After scanning, you then type in how many servings you ate. Make sure to measure your food to be calculated correctly. Another handy convenience - there are pre-calculated menu items for MANY restaurants in the app. So let’s say you're planning to go out for dinner over the weekend, and you want to find a restaurant that has their menu in sync with My Fitness Pal.

Simply search within the app of My Fitness Pal and you'll see the locations of the restaurants in the system. This makes it much easier to go out to eat, when you're watching your food intake. There's no need to guess work on how many grams of protein, carbohydrates, or fat is in a food item

I highly recommend, once you get registered - go in and manually edit the macro nutrient percentages.

It comes with a default setting, the protein is too low, and carbohydrate are too high for someone whose goal is weight loss. The recommended setting that I start my clients off is: 30% protein 25% carbohydrates 40% fat This can be adjusted after a few weeks of trial and error. Other times, this is the perfect setting for some.
